New Delhi Aug 24 (INB) Expressing deep concern over the condition of public education infrastructure, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has written to the education ministers of all states, demanding public disclosure of data regarding school renovations, teacher vacancies, and fund utilization, the activist group said in a statement on Monday. In an open letter to the ministers, shared by CJP in an official post on X, the outfit highlighted that children in several government schools still lack access to basic necessities, such as safe drinking water, functional washrooms, proper classrooms, and seating benches. It noted that the visuals emerging from government schools on social media platforms are alarming and called on authorities across the country to treat the condition of public education as an urgent priority on a war footing. CJP Founder and Convenor Abhijeet Dipke said in the statement, the party asked state education departments to publicly reveal the number of schools renovated over the past five years alongside those requiring urgent repairs or complete reconstruction. The party also sought transparency on the total number of sanctioned teaching posts versus existing vacancies, actual budgetary spending against allocated funds over the last five years, and the estimated number of additional schools required to ensure universal access to quality education. The representation further demanded details regarding non-teaching duties assigned to government school staff, as well as the current availability of digital learning tools, sports equipment, and functional sanitation facilities in state-run institutions. Underlining that the issue goes beyond politics or any single administration, CJP stated on X that every child, irrespective of background or economic status, deserves a dignified education with safe classrooms, basic hygiene facilities and adequate teachers.
