New Delhi, Oct 30 (INB) Amazon India, IIT Delhi and the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), which functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Friday announced five winning teams of the RAKSHAM National AI Cybersecurity Hackathon, the organisers said. The event had attracted nearly 5,000 student participants from 14 states, the organisers said in a statement. The hackathon aimed to encourage the development of artificial intelligence-based solutions to emerging cyber threats, including voice cloning, online fraud, AI-driven scam detection and deepfake identification, it stated. After an initial online submission and two rounds of jury evaluations, five teams were selected from among 30 finalists. The winning teams will receive cash prizes ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 2 lakh, it added. The top five teams will also get an opportunity to showcase their solutions at Amazon Smbhav 2026, scheduled to be held on December 10 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The initiative brought together students to develop technology-driven approaches to identifying fraudulent activities, detecting manipulated content and recognising scams before they cause harm. Amit Gupta, Second-in-Command (NCR & IC) at I4C, said the hackathon combined government experience, industry expertise and academic talent to address emerging cyber threats. He urged participants to take their ideas beyond the prototype stage and develop reliable and scalable solutions for cybercrime prevention and citizen safety. Amazon’s Rakesh Bakshi said collaboration between industry, academia and government could help young innovators develop solutions to real-world cybersecurity challenges. IIT Delhi Dean of Student Affairs Prof Pradyumna S said the initiative provided students an opportunity to apply their technical skills to challenges with societal impact. The winning entries were selected by a jury comprising representatives from I4C, Amazon and EasySocial, it added. The hackathon was implemented with the support of student technical clubs ARIES and Dev Club at IIT Delhi, along with the institute’s Office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives.
