CBSE urges schools to promote free NIELIT digital courses for Class 8th to 12th

New Delhi, Jul 1 (INB) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked its affiliated schools to promote free online courses offered by the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) for students of Class 8th to 12th. In a circular issued to heads of CBSE-affiliated schools, the Board said the courses are available through the NIELIT Digital University (NDU) platform, an initiative of NIELIT, an autonomous scientific society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). The free courses are designed to strengthen digital literacy and equip students with future-ready skills in emerging technologies. They cover subjects including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Programming, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Semiconductor Design and other advanced digital domains. CBSE has directed schools to disseminate information about the courses among students of Class 8th to 12th and their parents and encourage interested students to enrol on the NDU platform. The Board said the initiative aims to enhance technology-driven learning and prepare students for the rapidly evolving digital economy by providing access to quality online education at no cost. A list of available courses has been shared with schools, and students can access the programmes through the NIELIT Digital University portal.
